Found out about a film collectors convention being held saturday just gone from a nice chap in the vintage magazine shop on Brewer Street, so decided to check it out. It was held in the methodist central hall in Westminster and I think I was probably the only person under 60 and not wearing beige there. It smelt pretty bad too, but there was some amazing prints there. It was mainly posters/autographs and other printed material..they had some original star wars posters and movie artwork from the 20s onwards..some going for well over £2000! I didn't come away with anything incredible, just a few prints with some nice typography..some of it reminds me a bit of the house industries stuff. Met some very interesting people though, and there's BIG money in the poster business apparently so maybe my collection will be worth something one day!
